| In
the early sixties innovative, entrepreneurial-minded
scientists formed two companies: Physics International
in northern California and Maxwell in southern California
with the intent to develop hi-tech commercial products
and to perform contract R&D for the government
and private industry. Combining expertise in high
voltage devices, shock physics and computational
analysis these two companies formed the nucleus
of what is today's L-3 Pulse Sciences (L-3 PS)
that to this day is regarded as a pioneer within
the U.S. scientific and defense communities. |

| Shortly
after start-up, these two companies recognized and
addressed the governments need for a powerful
flash x-ray pulser to perform transient radiation
effects testing on electronics systems. This single
project spawned the diverse set of products and
services that we offer today. |
